The InSight Mars lander shortly entered safe mode in January after dust covered its solar panels, resulting in the little solar energy usable to the lander, though power generation has since recovered.

Due to the dust collection on its dual solar panels, InSight, which arrived on Mars in 2018, has been operating on reduced power for just some time.

In 2021, engineers were able to remove a few dust from a single panel by dousing sand over it.

But InSight is still not lucky enough to catch a bit of wind to blow away the dust.
