Apple’s AR/VR headset likely to come with a monthly subscription

According to TrendForce analysis, AR/VR device shipments will reach 14.19 million units in 2022, representing a 43.9 percent annual growth rate.

TrendForce estimates that until at least 2023, no other branded goods will be able to replace Oculus or Microsoft's current mainstream standing.

The commercial sector is dominated by the HoloLens 2, which costs more than $1,000 and up to $3,500.

Manufacturers who dominate commercial systems, software, and platforms have an advantage because the commercial market places a greater focus on the benefits of hardware and software integration.

According to TrendForce, Apple will most likely target the commercial market and utilise the same pricing approach as HoloLens due to the hardware performance needs and gross profit margins.

Entire, TrendForce expects that new devices from Apple, Meta, and Sony will be delayed this year and will not add meaningfully to the overall AR/VR market for the time being.
